LBF Unveils Scholarship Program

On December 11, 2024, the Lanre Briggs Foundation (LBF) officially launched its fully funded university scholarship program during an end-of-year award ceremony at Imade College in Owo, Ondo State. It was a defining moment in Nigeria’s educational journey, opening new doors of opportunity for deserving students.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement as dignitaries, school patrons, alumni, staff, and students gathered to witness the announcement. Dr. Lanre Briggs, founder of LBF, delivered an inspiring address encouraging students to pursue excellence and assuring them of the Foundation’s commitment to supporting outstanding scholars.

To ensure fairness and transparency, LBF has established an independent academic committee that will oversee a scholarship qualifying examination. The top 20 performers from Imade College will receive fully funded university scholarships to study at any public university of their choice in Nigeria.

This inaugural edition marks the beginning of a larger vision. The second phase will include public secondary schools across Ondo State, selecting up to 500 students. In the third phase, the program will expand nationwide to support up to 2,000 students from public secondary schools across Nigeria.

In addition to the scholarship launch, the Foundation donated essential learning materials to the school, including textbooks, exam preparation guides, and WAEC and NECO past questions. The support extended futher with a pledge to cover the JAMB registration fees for all SS3 students at Imade College, totaling around 300 students.

Over 50 LBF certificates were awarded to high-achieving students of the college in recognition of their academic excellence. The Foundation also appreciated the dedication of the school staff with gifts including calendars, umbrellas, and office supplies.

The Principal of Imade College, Mr. Fasawe T.A., expressed heartfelt gratitude for the Foundation’s generosity and pledged continued collaboration to support student success.

The event ended with a standing ovation. It was a moment of renewed hope and a powerful step toward transforming lives through education.
